This door was designed to keep out persistent occultists. We'll have to be more persistent than that. Knock will earn us entry, and Forge destroy this door where it stands.

FNORD

Requirements

  • Knock (Invokes the Anaconda)
  • Forge (Invokes the Harvester)

Knock Invocation

We call upon the Anaconda

  • Knock 10: We call upon the Anaconda, who is undeterred. The webs of the Moon and the storms of the Province of Dust cannot keep out the Anaconda. Neither shall a single door stop us.
  • Knock 5: We call upon the Anaconda, who may not be denied. If we harness a great amount of Knock, we can go anywhere we please. We will probably manage to call enough power to us.
  • Knock 1: We call upon the Anaconda, who is never seen entering. We have some aptitude in the opening arts. Perhaps we can manage this door. It will be a struggle, however.
  • Knock Success: A harmless puff. A door can be said to have died when it is finally breached. We have been merciful enough to give this one a painless ending.
  • Knock Failure: The wail of magic. Even the most careful of openings can be shattered with enough magic, and this door holds plenty. We'll have to try again, after we rest.

Forge Invocation

We call upon the Harvester

  • Forge 10: We call upon the Mad-Machine, who breached Kowloon. We will shatter this door, and then shatter the remnants, and then shatter even those shards into dust.
  • Forge 5: We call upon the Mad-Machine, who devours fortresses. We have readied our tools; nitroglycerin, dynamite, and blasting caps. We'll probably pass.
  • Forge 1: We call upon the Mad-Machine, who is never sated. We have prepared our tools in the fires of the Forge. It will be a struggle, but we might destroy this door.
  • Forge Success: The scream of steel. Some compare the duties of doors to the lifetimes of mortals. If we utilized that metaphor, we could only be said to have murdered this door.
  • Forge Failure: An unimpressive puff. Seawater rusts even the mightiest of machines, and fresh water turns gunpowder into useless mud. We'll have to dry it out, and try again.
