Lock text: The lights ahead are traps, the voices around us liars. These are the spirits of the mist and the woods, and they will lead us astray if we let them.

Start text: We are assailed by mocking laughter. We see nothing. Our maps fail us. They offer their aid. We might match their tricks with those of Moth, or burn away the mist with the heat of Forge.

Requirements

Moth Invocation

  • Moth 10: We call on the Witch in the Woods, who is fascination. These are not her courtiers, but they will obey her nonetheless. We shall certainly pass.
  • Moth 5: We call on the Witch in the Woods, who is hidden from sight. Our tormentors are gone for now, but they might still return. We will probably escape before then.
  • Moth 1: We call on the Witch in the Woods, who is unnamed. They say to know the name of a spirit is to have power over it, so we have hidden ours. We might survive the night.
  • Moth Failure: They have stopped laughing. We shall never laugh again. we shall never say what happened in the mist. We are back where we started, a small mercy.
  • Moth Success: They are cunning, but we have tricks of our own. By the end we were the ones laughing, and now we are safe.

Forge Invocation

  • Forge 10: We call upon the Snow-Stained, who shall not be barred. Lead and flame and force are our weapon and our shield against treachery and mist. We shall certainly make it through.
  • Forge 5: We call upon the Snow-Stained, who bashes its own way. We will ignore the illusions and the mist, for our course is altered by us alone. We will probably reach the end.
  • Forge 1: We call upon the Bully's Stick, who does not need to think. We must trust in good sense, and be prepared to endure any injury. We just might find the end.
  • Forge Failure: We have beat our own path through the mists, and it has led us to ruin. By the time we make it out, we can barely walk.
  • Forge Success: Glamour and illusion burns away. There is no where for them to hide, so they flee. We have triumphed.
