The Distinguished, also known as the Plighted End and Imperatrix (formerly as Empress Cleopatra), is one of the Hours of the Third Fansus, created by Lyrositor. She arose from the ritual sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of her subjects, at the apex of her mortal might. She is in equal parts aspected with Winter, for the price that is required, and Forge, for the promised reward. She is an Hour of terrible demands and fair rewards.

History

The Distinguished arose from an Egypt which resisted assimilation by the Roman Empire, managing instead, through alliances, marriages, and superior strategy, to take over significant swathes of the Empire, including, eventually, Rome itself (though the Roman Empire endured elsewhere). Such was the loyalty and fervor the Pharaoh-Empress commanded that no enemy could stand before the strength of her forces, with sacrifices to her own God being a widespread practice. At the peak of her power, she demanded the ultimate price of her people: that they lay down their lives for her, providing her with the strength she needed to ascend to Hourhood on a river of blood.

Principles

For devotion unquestioned, power unmatched. For absolute sacrifice, absolute renewal. The Distinguished is an hour of terrible demands, as represented by Winter, and immense reward, through the might of Forge. Loyal worshipers are granted power proportional to the price they are willing to pay for it, up to and even beyond their own life.
