==Overview==
In the final battle between the Ourobourine’s patron Hours, the Snake Tail was swallowed by the Anaconda. Aware of the Tail’s penchant for returning from Nowhere, Anaconda incorporated that Hour into itself. Knowing that they were too unlike to stay together long, and that the disaster of their splitting would surely result in catastrophe, the Anaconda intended to be subverted by the Bright-Delver. However, the mix of power was unstable, and instead of being subverted, the Anaconda subverted both its siblings, becoming the World Serpent (The Deep-Dragon, The First Wyrm, The Wound-Fang, The Frostbitten Key) The Great Serpent returned from Nowhere, greatly confused by what it perceived to be an inexorable summons from its palace, and discovered the situation. The World Serpent forced it to stay, silent barring its way back to Nowhere until promises were extracted from its father to ensure that the older Hour would remain.

The World-Serpent swiftly proved itself to be an awkward ruler, uncomfortable with the minutiae of governance. It promised only that the denizens of the Mansus would see safety, for that was all it knew itself able to deliver. For matters of actually ruling, it turned again and again to the Great Serpent, the Vizier, and the Architeuthian for guidance and assistance. It was clear that the World Serpent would much prefer a return to its earlier duties, but knew that it could never turn back.
