The sea we sail is plagued by storms. The lands we seek are past these jet-black clouds, hopefully in the unmapped history we seek. We will need Heart or Winter or both to make it through.
Expeditions
- FNORD
Requirements
- Winter (Invokes the Ferryman)
- Heart (Invokes the Architeuthian)
Winter Invocation
We call upon the Ferryman
- Winter 10: We call upon the Dolomedes, who cannot sink. In the beginning of histories, the First Men bargained to cross worlds. Here, we invoke that deal to cross seas. It must help us.
- Winter 5: We call upon the Dolomedes, who rows the Dead away. The nature of the spider does not permit it to breach an agreement. To call upon it outside of the First Bargain, however... It is probably safe.
- Winter 1: We call upon the Dolomedes, who walks upon the storm. The great spider listens to all offers, even though it is fickle about its toll. It might deign to aid us.
- Winter Success: A Bargain is made. The sea was as smooth as glass, smooth as silk, smooth as the lunar oceans visible only on a full moon. And we have landed, safe and undevoured.
- Winter Failure: Judgement comes. The clouds were white, last night, and shone in the light of a full moon. That was our first warning. We ought to have listened.
Heart Invocation
We call upon the Architeuthian
- Heart 10: We call upon the Dweller in Depths, who loves both sky and sea. Storms rise and cease to the whims of the Dweller in Depths. The proper sacrifices will keep us safe from both storm and sea.
- Heart 5: We call upon the Dweller in Depths, who loves the survivor. If storms strike, the Dweller in Depths will keep us safe and unharmed. Probably.
- Heart 1: We call upon the Dweller in Depths, who loves the black waters.
- Heart Success: Blue skies and blue seas. The sun has burned our skin, and the salt spray coated the redness. But we neither drowned nor were devoured. It's a start.
- Heart Failure: A lightning-struck labyrinth. Another day, another vicious storm. Is this how these seas always are, or did we offend? We may run out of food, soon...
